A reference station for the city of Namur...
Soon, the establishment of a permanent reference station for measuring air quality in the city of Namur will take shape, similar to the stations of the Walloon surveillance network, such as those located in Charleroi and Liège.
More precisely, this station will be located at Place Maurice Servais and will measure, in real time, various pollutants such as fine particles (PM10 and PM2.5), nitrogen oxides (NOx), ozone (O3) and black carbon (black carbon, BC). It will be representative of an urban background, that is to say, average city air, without the immediate impact of a nearby source of pollution.
Currently, a provisional measurement station has already installed and has been operational since 2019 (the data are published on this website). In view of the substantial urban development work that will be carried out there, the measuring station will temporarily be removed for the duration of the project which will take place from 2021...
